JSC: PRESS RELEASE

At its four-day meeting that ended on the 7th day of August, 2025, the Borno State Judicial Service Commission considered the promotion of 97 officers to various grades.
The Commission also considered the report of the Judiciary Public Complaints Committee which investigated a petition by one Alhaji Bukar Baki against Magistrate Yusuf Garba of Chief Magistrate Court 4, Wulari, Maiduguri.
The Commission accepted the report that found the Magistrate misdirected government revenue of NGN100,000.00. Consequently, the Judicial Service Commission removed him from the post of Magistrate and directed him to report to the Chief Registrar for re-assignment in the Registrar Cadre.
The Borno State Judicial Service Commission assures Borno State citizens and residents that nothing and no one would be spared in ensuring just and fair determination of disputes in courts, and urges the public to report corrupt staff. Honest and diligent staff will be encouraged and rewarded while corrupt ones will be punished.
