JUDICIAL SERVICE COMMISSION: PUBLIC NOTICE

This is to notify the general public that the underlisted (download file below) candidates have applied for or been nominated and are being considered for appointment as judges of the Borno State High Court to fill vacancies from Borno Central (4) and Borno South (1).

The Borno State Judicial Service Commission (JSC) solicits the assistance of the public to identify persons on the list who may be UNSUITABLE for appointment.
The following conducts and traits render a candidate unsuitable:

• canvassing or lobbying for the appointment, directly or indirectly, in any form and/or through any person or persons, such as but not limited to, politicians, traditional rulers, public officers or other Judicial Officers
• bad behaviour, whether in or out of Court
• activity suggesting impecuniosity and/or display of lifestyle that indicates that the candidate has been living above his/her means
• influence peddling
• any act of dishonesty or corruption or corrupt practice either on behalf of himself or of any other JudiciaI Officer or professionaI colleague
• rendering dishonest or questionable legal opinion or advice or suppression of truth and suggestion of falsehood in any legal matter in dealing with colleagues, clients, or the Courts of Law
• deliberate, improper or wrong completion of Forms with intent to deceive or mislead
• submission of fake credentials and/ or deceitful or fraudulent curriculum vitae
• limited exposure to practice at the Bar and conduct of cases in the Superior Courts of Record
• low or tarnished reputation.

Information on the unsuitability (praise or positive comments will be disregarded) of a candidate shall be written and submitted by 1st September, 2025, in a sealed envelope marked "JSC PSL" or electronic mail addressed to:
