The Litigation registry is where institution of a suit is commenced by filing a Writ of Summons, an Originating Summons, a Petition or Originating Motion. The Judiciary system in Nigeria operate an adversarial system of justice, and the courts determine causes upon materials presented by the parties.

With the NCMS E-filing, the litigation registry can receive case filing documents electronically and make assessment for further processing and assigment to courts. This helps to ensure smooth and swift process of instituting a suit.
