The Borno State High Court has a translation unit for translation of court proceeding records. Borno is a multicultural and multi-ethinic state where most of its residents speak local languages of Kanuri and Hausa.
The Sharia Courts in the state take their record of proceedings in Hausa language and when cases from such courts are appealed to the Sharia Court of Appeal or State High courts, the records of proceeding are then translated and certified at the Translation unit in the High Court complex.
